More questions than answers

Speeding to work, working to rule when I get there and then speeding back home. The only time we seem to move quickly is when we are going there and when we are leaving. Is it that we really dislike what we do and it's just a means to an end?? What happened to professional pride and pride in self? Have we really taken the pride and joy out of work, with politically correct terms like-there is no "I" in the team, or it's only an effort if its a team effort? How can individuals be rewarded for innovative ideas or a good project if only the team benefits? Why then should an individual be a contributor? How do you get them to feel inclusive?
If we don't fix these issues where will the team be in, what state and with what type of output?

Working to eat

I have written about the us-the human resource- just working to obtain things be it to meet our needs or wants.
I came across this article about people who work just to eat and even though it was written in 2016, I don't think much has changed in T and T.

The wicked deeds

In this constantly changing world, from batter too gold, too coins, too paper money, too credit cards, and to Paypal. We must not forget that through technology we have globalisation, conglomeration and monopolisation.
Social media has created its own revolution opening up avenues in communication and creating new folds in how people interact with each other and keep in touch on a daily or minute to minute basis.
Now the evolutions and revolutions mentioned above are not the wicked deeds, it is what people use them for. From the corporations to the garbage collectors, from the police to the criminals, from the common peeping tom to the everyday paedophiles.
Even it being used by political parties which I must say abuse the system because it makes them seem more human but we know the truth " Humanity is lost to Politicians as politics is a trade for their souls"

Emancipation

Work work work work work!!! Rhiana touched on a serious subject with that song.  Seriously, can you not see the connotation of having to continuously work. What are we doing all this work for?
We say to survive, to provide for ourselves, food, clothing, shelter and luxury items. Or are the newest technologies a must have these days.😊

Work should not only be for our present but for our future to the point where we will no longer be working but retired from working and able to finally slow our pace, our hearts and then die.

It's important to find a balance while we are working, but easier said than done. It can be so exhausting just getting up and getting to our place of work and then getting back home after that, the time for other things can seem daunting and remain undone.

Let's not be a slave to work. Again I know easier said than done and with me not providing a proper solution to this ever-increasing problem.

There are two things that I did myself to allow me to not be a slave to work: -

  1. I found something that I loved doing and was good at doing and did not mind doing every day of my life.
  2. To ensure use of my natural talents and the other thing I love to do I volunteer with drama groups, theatres and small performance groups at my community centre.
We have to make the time to examine ourselves, to free ourselves from mental slavery and be emancipated.

Work to rule

Recent events at my place of work have made me revise some of my thoughts on work ethics and procedures. In the past, I felt that the company's policy is what is used to guide the procedures and ethical behaviours of members of staff.
I was wrong. These policies are created by a person who their own personal experiences my decide what they want out of the staff in terms of output, input and general team interactions.
Our ethics, however, is what we as workers bring to the fore. Even though things are put in place to guide us it is
our own moral compass that helps us decide if we will follow blindly or do what makes us feel comfortable in the work environment. Of course, us bending the rules is to help to improve the firms' productivity.

Just a thought

Back again, labouring for my cause.
Recently read about the comments that Donald Trump made about countries that are predominantly blacks. It's scary to think that this man holds in his hands the power to start a war.
Okay, I am aware that there are people in every country who are bias and or racist, but knowing that someone with that mindset is at the seat of power is scary for the rest of the world.
Once again we are chained by our fears, enslaved by the thoughts and comments of one man because of who he is. When will we stop giving other people the power, if the comments that he made were never made public then would anyone really care about what he thinks? And if the American people seem to have such a problem with him and his sideline comments then why is he still in power? In a country where they protest everything and display full democratic rights then, why are they allowing themselves to remain a slave to one man's thoughts and actions?
